Nicol lives in a very rural area in Boca Chica. Her mother said that they lived next to a military facility. Her home had a living room area and one bedroom.  It looked like her mom and siblings share the cooking area with the grandparents. The cooking area has an outside fire pit and Nicol's brother sleeps in the grandparents' home.  Nicol and her sister share a bed and the mother has a bed. . They did have a washing machine.

When we entered the living area,  I met her grandparents and siblings. Nicol opened her gifts which included a cute t shirt from sponsor Susan, a butterfly watch, necklace, bracelet and ring set from me. I think that she liked everything and immediately put the watch and one of the rings on. After this we walked through both homes to see where everyone slept. It was difficult walking through the home because much of the floor is made of dirt and rocks. Nicol's grandmother was very gracious and appreciative and gave me a big kiss and kept thanking me for sponsoring Nicol. Nicol's mother was very sweet and she said that she was taking an English class so she was listening very carefully to my words to learn more words.

Nicol's little sister is only nine but she is in the same grade as Nicol because she was moved up two grades. She was very quiet and Nicol's brother was also very quiet. I believe that the translator said that they both had sponsors. Nicol's siblings were unable to attend the outing but they did receive outfits later when we went shopping.
